Why Photos Still Matter…Even in Uncertain Times
This year has been tough. I’ve watched some of my photography idols and artists I’ve looked up to and learned from; quietly close their doors. Not because they lost their passion, but because this year has been heavy. Between economic uncertainty, rising costs, and the tension of a political season, many families are holding back… just in case.
And I get it! We're all trying to be wise, cautious, and prepared.
But I want to gently remind you: fear doesn’t preserve memories.
The truth is, we don’t get to rewind time. Our babies won’t be this small again. Our seniors won’t get to redo their last year of high school. Our families won’t always be whole, healthy, and gathered like they are now.
Photos aren’t just a luxury. They’re a legacy. They are the proof that you were here, you loved, you laughed, you belonged.
I’m not just saying this because I’m a photographer. I’m saying this as a mom, a daughter, a human who’s watched time change everything in the blink of an eye.
So even when the world feels heavy, don’t wait for a perfect time to capture your life. The perfect time is now!
Because in the end, these portraits won’t just decorate your walls, they’ll become the very memories your heart will hold onto forever.
