Dunkin' Donuts
I usually get nervous before every photoshoot. Not just weddings, but literally EVERYTHING I photograph. I'm what you call a perfectionist and my husband will be the first one to tell you I'm way too hard on myself. I agree, but I want my clients to LOVE their portraits as much as I do. So every once in awhile I'll have a client(s) that will let me do what I do best. Photograph.
I often ask my couples where they first met because it's possible we could do a photoshoot there. AND GUESS WHAT!? They met at Dunkin' Donuts....ummmm "let's shoot there!" is what I eagerly said to Brendan over the phone and he agreed. I was so excited from the time I hung up the phone, to the time I arrived at Dunkin' Donuts.
Before every photoshoot, I usually plan in my head what I'm going to do, but 9 times out of 10 I hardly plan at all because I never know what I'm walking into; meaning - what kind of light I have available, what mood my clients are in, what the weather will be like etc. Do you see why I get so nervous? Well, I'm happy to say Ali & Brendan were different. I honestly had nothing to worry about because they were so easy going and laid-back. Ali was grinning from ear to ear when I first saw her and the moment she told me they had cats, my nerves calmed down and I knew we would get along just fine! haha!
From the moment I met them, I could tell they were in love because I hardly had to direct them at all. They were just cute how they were! All giggles and laughs is what I photographed and even better it made for great portraits, which makes me AND my clients extremely happy.
From Dunkin' Donuts, we were on our way to a country spot that had yellow wild flowers. Ali's blue tie-dyed dress went perfectly with the scenery and I absolutely adored it. Then we were off to find another location down the road and it ended up being beautiful as well. We tried to find some cliffs, but Ali was in wedges and of course I myself wouldn't hike in heels, so no way was I going to make her hike up these dangerous hills. So we ended on a good note with a dreamy bridge in the background. It was like a fairytale the way the light was hitting them on the last shot. I was happy. They were happy, so here I am posting this lovely session and I hope you enjoy! To Ali & Brendan, thank you for trusting me with your portraits. I wish you the best and the happiest marriage!
